Questions from the Quayside
What SurfGalleon is, how it pays, and what it will cost you. Straight answers.
What exactly is SurfGalleon?
A manual traffic exchange. You view other members' websites, and in return they view yours. Every page you view earns credits — advertising credits — and you spend those to have real people visit your own sites.
"Manual" matters: nothing is automated. A human sits at the wheel and actually sees each page. That is what makes the traffic worth having.
Is it free?
Yes — free forever, and free members earn at every port just like everyone else. Paid berths surf at a better ratio, but nothing about the exchange is locked behind them. No card is needed to join.
How much traffic will I actually get?
That is up to you: surf more, earn more. As a rough guide, a free berth surfing for half an hour will send a useful batch of visitors to a site the same day. A better berth earns the same traffic in a fraction of the surfing.
We will not quote you a number we cannot honour — anyone promising "10,000 guaranteed visitors" is selling you something else.
What can I advertise?
Almost any site that loads cleanly in a frame and is safe for a general audience: business sites, affiliate offers, blogs, squeeze pages, other exchanges.
Not permitted: adult material, hate content, anything illegal, malware, frame-breakers, pop-ups, or pages slow enough to spoil the surf. Full list in the Terms.
Will this actually make me sales?
Honest answer: not directly, and be wary of anyone who says otherwise. Surfers are marketers moving quickly, and no cold visitor buys in five seconds.
What exchanges are genuinely good for is building a list. Put up a splash page with one headline, one offer and one email box, capture the address, and sell later. Used that way they work very well.
What makes SurfGalleon different?
Most exchanges are a timer and a list. Here surfing actually pays to do together: join a Crew and every hand earns a bonus for each crewmate sailing at the same time, then call a Rally for an hour of even more. Along the way there are Bonus Crates to open, Tournaments to race, and — for upgraded hands — monthly PowerUps and a bonus package that stack the longer you stay aboard.
Same honest traffic. Considerably better company.
Do I have to click something on every page?
Yes — a matching flag, which takes a second. It proves a human is at the wheel. Exchanges that skip that check fill with bots and their traffic stops being worth anything to anybody advertising there.
Can I earn commission for referring people?
Yes. Everyone who joins through your link becomes part of your crew, and you earn commission on what they buy plus a slice of the credits they earn by surfing.
