Three steps to your first campaign
Join and prepare your page
Create a free Steerage account and complete any account-verification steps. In your member area, open your website advertising page and add the HTTPS address you want to promote. Give the page a clear title, check its contents, and review the submission rules before saving.
Surf to earn credits
Open the surfing page, allow the current view’s timer to finish, and complete the verification control correctly. A view must be credited by the server to earn its advertising reward. Follow the surfbar’s instructions; refreshing or opening more tabs is not a substitute for a credited view.
Assign credits to your website
Return to your website advertising page and assign available credits to the site you want shown. An approved website with a positive assigned balance can enter rotation. Keep an eye on that balance: an unfunded or paused campaign will not keep receiving ordinary credit-funded delivery.
BEFORE YOU SET SAIL
Give a visitor one clear next step.
A short landing page is often easier to understand than a crowded homepage. Explain who your offer is for, show what the visitor can do next, and make any signup or purchase voluntary. Check the page on a narrow screen as well as a desktop.
Your destination must work over HTTPS and allow display in a surfing frame. If it refuses to connect, use a suitable landing page you control or contact its owner. Do not bypass another website’s security settings.
UNDERSTAND YOUR BALANCES
Credits are advertising resources.
Your available credits and the credits assigned to a website are different balances. Banner and text-ad impressions are separate advertising resources too. Check the relevant member tool before assuming one balance can fund another format.
You can also use optional upgrades or one-time advertising purchases. Current prices, active benefits, and payment terms are shown in the member catalog. Free Steerage membership does not require a subscription.
Before your first credited view
Do I have to pay to join?
No. Public registration starts with free Steerage membership. Paid memberships and advertising purchases are optional.
Why is my website not appearing yet?
Check its approval and active status, destination address, and assigned credit balance. If those look correct, contact support with the affected website’s address and the message you see.
Should I click the advertisements on a viewed website?
No third-party ad click is needed to complete SurfGalleon’s verification. Do not click ads to manufacture revenue or satisfy an advertiser’s incentive.
